Description
Double-walled steel tanks are used for the manufacture and storage of food, pharmaceutical and chemical products. In these industries, there are products whose storage temperature is of particular importance, so double-walled tanks are used to keep the product temperature at a standard level regardless of the ambient temperature. These tanks can be accompanied by a propeller and motor-gearbox, which will be used as a mixer.
The inner steel layer (depending on the volume of the tank) is usually thicker and the outer layer is usually considered 1.5 mm. The temperature of the fluid inside the tank is controlled in two ways. The first method, which is customary, is to use special thermal insulation in the space between the two layers, and the second method is to use tubular coils that are wrapped around the tank and control the temperature of the tank. The material of the tank is generally selected from 304 steel, and if needed, the inside of the tank can be insulated with several layers of epoxy. These tanks can be supplied in various capacities from 20 liters to 30000 liters.
The type and model of propellers are designed according to the use of the mixer, the speed and the required mixing method. Blades are divided into two general classes. Blades that produce flow parallel to the shaft axis and blades that produce flow in the radial direction. The dimensions of the propeller according to the type of propeller are obtained from the tables with parameters such as the diameter of the tank, the height of the liquid inside the tank and the height of the vane from the bottom of the tank.
It is worth noting that piping designs, structures and P&ID drawings for the installation and operation of tanks are carried out by AUTODESK Plant Design Suite and SolidWorks software by JSM's engineering expert teams.
